​When does Illuminate Academy (IA) open?​

Illuminate Academy opens in Fall 2026, starting with grades K–5. We will add one grade level each year until we reach 12th grade.

Is the IA free?

​Yes! Illuminate Academy is a tuition-free public charter school. There is no cost to attend.

Is Illuminate Academy fully virtual?

​Yes. Illuminate Academy is a 100% online school designed for students across South Carolina. All classes, enrichment, and support services are delivered virtually.

Who can attend Illuminate Academy?

​Any student in South Carolina entering grades K–5 for the 2026–2027 school year can apply. As we expand, more grades will be added each year.

Will students have teachers?

​Yes! Students will attend live, teacher-led virtual classes each day in math and ELA, have access to small group instruction, and independent learning activities. All of our teachers will be certified.

At Illuminate, students benefit from a consistent daily schedule that provides structure and accountability, paired with the flexibility and personalized support to meet each learner's unique needs. ​
